This branch of my very special favourite the Unexpected Rose* ended up in my kitchen, and there are actually six flowers on it, but some of them are hiding behind the others in the photo that I took yesterday evening:
They were just barely scented, which my mother found a little disappointing, but I wouldn't want an overwhelming smell in our kitchen. Now the flowers have all faded and my mother is trying to root two cuttings from that branch: let's hope that she succeeds at this time of year.
Three of the flowers lasted until yesterday, and then my mother found their petals all fallen off this morning. Then she divided the branch into two cuttings and is now trying to root them; it's not the right time of year, but at least there is no harm in trying.
