Oh my gosh! The Kickstarter is live!

I just launched the Sassafrass Kickstarter! I've been working on this for months and I'm really excited about it. This is Sassafrass's most ambitious project yet, and you can be a part of it by preordering the Sundown: Whispers of Ragnarok CD. On a personal level, it would also mean a huge amount to me - I'm the head of the Sassafrass Kickstarter

I don't quite understand this--Balticon is next week, doesn't that mean the performance and recording of the play is happening regardless?

That is a really good question. So good, in fact, that we just added it to our FAQ, which you can find on our Kickstarter page. To summarize what you'll find there: although we will definitely be performing and taking video of the performance next week, a large amount of the costs of creating the CD and DVD come after that. The Kickstarter, if successful, will mean that we have a DVD available to the public, rather than a video which is just for internal group use. Also, of course, the Kickstarter is a preorder project for the CD, which means that we can make the CD far more awesome than we would be able to if we had to sink the entire cost out-of-pocket up front.
