Today, at work I discovered this in the content of someone's letter... The person was saying that in trying to evangelize Christianity in Germany, "Germans are very hindered by their logical thinking and intellect."
Now, I don't take issue here with the Christianity part - that's a whole different argument. What I take issue with is the idea that logical thinking and intellect is a hindrance to belief. How has it come so far - centuries ago, we revered the writings of Thomas Aquinas and Pascal, and now, we are lifting up the dullard. Idiocracy, indeed. The art of debate and philosophy has truly been lost to the American mind, and it so hinders US when we try to discuss matters of faith and belief abroad - why not approach belief in a way they can understand? If you cannot converse with people on their level, why try to bring them down...
