So, this is the drama that's based on Misaeng, which I haven't seen but was a huge hit in S. Korea. Someone who has, tell me if you are also watching this, please, and how it compares ( Read more... )

It may sound strange, but it´s exactly this hero-driven kind of dorama that always works out for the main-character, that I NEED once in a while and that makes it so refreshingly different from US-series. My everyday life is so divers and complicated and so not black&white that watching a Japanese dorama in the evening where everything is like it should be (the good one wins), is like a refreshing shower on a hot summers day to me. I´m really thirsty for that sip of J-Dorama.

Seto´s haircut in this dorama is so to his disadvantage, that I would even consider throwing him out of my bed (if he ever wants in).
How can "Fairy" and this guy be the same person?
Well, once again it shows us how versatile an actor Koji-kun is.

I was thinking about his hair in it last night! The massively defined hairline is SO weird but it does fit his character xD

Yes, indeed - it fits his (dorama)-character perfectly. But it makes Koji so much less attractive ^-^.

I don't know... I kind of like it in a weird way. Maybe it's that Astroboy vibe. Astroboy, my first love!

Kaku should defo get that dorama made! I was so happy to see him in it and so sad to see him go ASAP. Although if memory serves me right, we SHOULD be seeing those that did make the cut at atleast one point BUT Jdramas are much shorter than Kdramas so they might skip it. I've always enjoyed Kiriyama's acting and I think they castes him PERFECTLY! I agree with your comments on Yamamoto. And of course we're all impressed by Seto ^_^ I'm liking the story so far and it's interesting to see what they keep (they're being pretty faithful) and what they change. What I have noticed is the difference is gone. The j version seems a lot... Not darker but it's definitely more gloomy and depressing than the k version. The k version had some charm to it. Even when the character were being put through absolute shit, there was this charm and lightheartedness that it always had so you always felt (funnily enough) hopeful for the characters. But the J version feels a lot more (ironically) hopeless. I'm interested to see how it progresses ^_^ Btw, not ( ... )

So, HOPE is really quite different, if they left out the entire humor part. Hmm, that's one thing that really made Mother Game for me, was how they managed to have such heavy storylines but leavened with so many sweet moments.

I'm really, really disappointed in Nakajima. I was under the impression that he had put in solid performances elsewhere. Here, I'm just not feeling it. Seto made a reference to Nakajima performing concerts at the same time that they are filming this show. I suppose that might have had a huge impact on his acting, if maybe he is filming scenes out of order and without reference to what else is going on in the script.

Btw I meant Kaji, not Kaku xD

Nakajima.... He's not been a good actor. I've seen him in... *checks* 10 things and for the majority he's given the same flat performance in all of those (except maybe Pink and Grey, and Ballerini Keiji). He really is a hit-hit-miss. I was hoping to see him improve even more in this one but... Nah he's back to his usual flat acting it seems...

He is currently on tour. He just did Yokohama this weekend and I know he's at least in Hiroshima next month.

That makes sense, then. I guess this is another case of fans being blind to their idol's inadequacies.
