I co-bought a car with my mom yesterday.

It was totally spur of the moment because we went in to ask about trading in the van I've been driving, which is literally falling apart, and they had the perfect car AND were willing to give us some value for the old van.

I love public transportation and I always hated the thought of having a car, so it is funny to be where I am now. Damn reality for intruding--I've got to have one to do the teaching program without killing myself in the process.

Sorry about my confusing sentance! This is the first year I've been trying to use public transportation almost exclusively. I've been trying to not use my car at all. I'm still glad I have one though, it's very convenient, but I figure I should try to use public transportation where it is available.

Ooh, do you have a favorite transportation line? They each have their own personality! I had some interesting experiences on the hawthorne bus, myself. Haha.

I imagine it would be difficult not to use the car a lot of the time when you have it there... I've never the option when living in Portland so I hope I don't get too dependent on it when I move back.
