The Hate

Every time there's any sort of big news about Apple, I can count on a wave of anti-Apple sentiment from certain parts of my social networks. I've been thinking a lot about that in the wake of the Steve Jobs news. What drives it? What makes people so angry ( Read more... )

I've used both operating systems for years now and it's a love/hate relationship with all of them.

But I love the future, that's for sure.

For better or worse, these kinds of binary relationships exist everywhere in society .... ford vs. chevy, coke vs. pepsi, dem vs rep, 49ers vs. Raiders ... and so on. Seems like our society forces you to pick a side, youre either with us, or against us, and there are no inbetweens. :P

That's the thing about tech hate, it comes from both sides. Folks need to realize, that we all have different needs, and thus have different tech preferences. Hell, I still use my 80GB Zune, and you don't see me giving the iPod (or *insert player here*) users any grief for not going my way. Yeah, I've taken a lot of flak from the iPod camp, because I hate iTunes, and didn't spend twice as much for the same device. Some of it was tongue-in-cheek, but a good bit of it wasn't. I just shrug it off, and keep using what suits my needs. If using *insert Apple product here* suits your needs, more power to ya. Just realize that the door swings both ways.
