I don't know where you've already been but how about Krakow or Tallinn? Or Prague? Art/architecture-wise Barcelona and St.Petersburg would be great, but they're definitely not so budget-friendly...

i've only been to paris and london in europe - do you think that Berlin or anywhere in Germany would be a good idea? Prague sounds appealing, for sure. i wonder about hotel prices, though.

Oh yes, how could I forget Berlin, my favourite place!! :O Definitely go there - everywhere isn't budget-friendly, but if you don't try to eat in touristy areas and choose to stay in hostels instead of hotels you should be fine. If you decide on Berlin I'll give you more tips later if you want.

congrats on being promoted :) btw when did you send your letter? i've not gotten anything :/ and have fun on your trip..out of curiosity, for the average canadian, is travelling overseas expensive? since i see quite a few of my canadian friends travelling when they can :)

really, i wanted to go to montreal or toronto in february but it is a lot more expensive! i haven't been out to eastern canada except for london, ontario.

it seems i never got this lj post in my mail :/ anyway if ever you decide to go to eastern canada in a few years, feel free to crash at my place if i'm there already ;P i hope to be in canada by next winter so the immigration officers gotta move their butt and send me my medical and PR soon!!

Come to Rotterdam! You can stay with me for free and I'll show you around. :D

But I could also very much recommend Berlin, it's a fantastic and very interesting place, and also cheap compared to other West European cities.

:) i'll definitely consider it! thanks for the offer. I am basically picking places where i can fly for very cheap from either Rome or London and then from there to either Rome or London. know of any cheap/budget airlines? so far i have been looking at ryan air a lot.

berlin may just be where i end up! i've always wanted to go there, so this would be a good opportunity!
