So, I survived the second full week of school without falling asleep in class even once. This might be a record. It's almost like I'm all gung-ho or something, except that would never happen. Government class isn't as bad as expected, Mr. Fields is at least pretty snarky about some of our current leaders. Haven't seen much of Jenny in school aside ( Read more... )

A guy walks into the Espresso Pump right before I do, and he looks kind of familiar. I stand behind him in line for a minute before it hits me. "Hey, aren't you in that band that played the Bronze a while back?" I ask.

"Yeah, I heard you play, you guys sounded really good," I say. Alright, so the guy's looking at me like I'm nuts. He's the bass player, the one who the blonde girl Sophie kept staring at. "And uh, I chatted to a couple of your groupies," I add, with a smirk. "Gotta envy the lure of the musician."

I set the sketchbook on a table for a minute and shake his hand. In spite of the shaky start, he seems okay. "Nice to meet you." The name vaguely rings a bell and I say, "Oh, hey, you were involved in the play that went kablooey last year, weren't you?" I can't remember why his name stood out, but I remember some sort of buzz about it.
