It's a hard watch isn't it?  I've seen it three times now (don't judge me! (I only paid twice)) and it gets a bit more depressing each time.  The people of Gotham are asses with little redeeming features, they just want an easy, safe life and they don't care how they get it.  It reminds me of

Agreed. It was so much smarter than what I expected, walking into the theater. Heath Leger was beyond brilliant. It was a bit of a swan song, wasn't it?

I first saw Ledger in Ten Things I Hate About You, which I love despite its teen movieness. He wasn't brilliant, just cute. But he was brilliant in TDK
