Frankenstein sighs. "I suppose that will have to do," he says, not liking at all the amount of time the training will take. But what choice to they have?

He looks at the boy, smiling. "How are you holding up, Sullivan?"

{Mmm, warm soup always helps combat the sniffles.}

”Okay,” he says, and leaves it at that. With other people present, people that he does not know well or consider friends, he isn’t comfortable with talking much about himself. “Can I talk to you after dinner?”

(It really does. That, and tea. What kind of soup?)

"Of course."

They finish the meal with pleasant conversation, mostly between Zoë and the Doctor. Caliban makes a note to send him over to the lab for a day to help out; he knows that Zoë loves working with the Doctor. When they are finished, he retreats to his study, and Frankenstein has Sullivan walk him out.

"What did you want to talk about?" he asks as they enter the main hall.

{Vietnamese beef noodle soup. With citrus and cinnamon tea.}

“Will you tell Anton how long I’ll be gone, and that I’m alright?” he asks. Knowing the man, his Mentor will never admit to being concerned about him, or missing him, but Sullivan wants him to at least know that he is well. “And I wanted to ask you about his condition- how is he? Is he still in pain?"
They come to the door and stop there, Sullivan looking at him with barely masked concern.

(Sounds really good :D I love cinnamon tea. Since I got home late, I couldn't be bothered to make dinner, so I just heated some beans.)
