A broken laugh bubbles in his stomach and comes out.

“I know. I know you do.” He smiles and lets his eyes close. Exhaustion fills every fibre of him and makes his body heavy. “Home,” he mumbles. “Wanna go home.”

Sleepiness takes hold of him, and he doesn’t fight it, but lets it take him away, sighing.

The smile stays even after his breathing ( Read more... )

He waits for the boy to fall asleep before he tries to move him, but his injuries prevent him from even being able to get up, and he feels exhaustion hit him like a punch to the face. Not even bothering to try and stay awake, he maneuvers himself so that his head is lying on Sullivan's chest, and as soon as he closes his eyes, he blacks out.

{Me too. He's such a stubborn bastard. :3 I think we should skip ahead to where Sulli wakes up.}

Sullivan dreams.

There are times when he can’t separate dream from memory, and others he knows that he is deeply asleep, wandering around in his own mind. It takes him a long time to surface from the near comatose state.

When he finally comes to, the first thing he notices is that he is warm. Not physically warm, but warm nonetheless. It glows in his chest, like a candle under his skin, connected to something outside of himself.

Connected to Anton, he understands as the fog of sleep starts to lift from his mind.

He groans and stirs.

Light blinds him when he cracks open his eyes and instantly makes him close them again. It stings. He tries again, going more slowly this time, and manages to focus. Above him is a white ceiling that he thinks he recognizes. The smell of anaesthesia and something sour and metallic invades his nose.

He’s in the hospital.

“Anton?”

(Yep, that's what I figured I'd do.)

Ariya's head snaps up from where it was resting on his bed, and she moves until she is peering over his face. "You're awake!" she exclaims. "You're-"

She doesn't even bother to finish her sentence, just wraps her arms around him and squeezes until she can't anymore. She thinks she might be crying, too, but she tries not to think about it.

He can hardly breathe through the tight embrace she is giving him, but he thinks that he doesn’t mind all that much, at least not until his chest protests against the pressure. “Heavy,” he wheezes,” can’t breathe.”

Smiling, she untangles herself from him, and Sullivan sees that tears are running down her face. It’s the good kind of tears, though. “C’mere.” He makes a vague gesture to the empty space next to him on the bed.

(It makes me so sad too D: These boys have pretty much been my life for the past four months. I'm super excited about Jas and Alejandro, though!)
