The fever gets so bad that he has to leave him to ask Grimm for fever fighting antibiotics. There is no time to explain the situation beyond saying that Alejandro is sick, and as much as the man wants to come with him, he denies him and hurries back.

Getting the boy to swallow down the pills takes effort, but he manages to after some trying, and ( Read more... )

He becomes vaguely aware of being moved, but he can't see why, still can't open his eyes. At some point a glass is pressed to his lips, and with a great effort, he manages to drink, not aware of how thirsty he was until the water hits is throat.

After several sips, he manages to find his voice. "What's happening?" he asks horsely.

{That sucks. I love spicy, flavorful food. I bet you'd like a fried egg and cheese sandwich, though. :3}

Jaspre can’t keep the relief out of his voice. “You have a fever. I found you collapsed in the snow and dragged you back here. The medicine should start working soon.” He makes him take another few sips and puts the glass on the nightstand to lean back against the bed’s headboard, bringing Alejandro with him to rest limply against his chest.

(Yuuum :D)

Alejandro groans. "Water," he rasps. "Thirsty." He can't manage more than one word at once; his lungs feel tight and his breaths are short and shallow.

{I just had one today for the first time. Basically what you do is fry an egg and put it on a sandwich with some cheese (I'd use a smoked kind (mozzarella or fontina) or a mild flavored one, like fontina, mozzarella, havarti, muenster, or maybe swiss), a few slices of some kind of beef meat (like roast beef or pastrami or whatever; you could probably use salami too) and then you grill it lightly on both sides (brush olive oil or butter onto the bread, and add the greens when you're done so they don't wilt. It's super yummy.}

“Alright.”

The boy drinks down the rest of the glass, and Jaspre has to refill it by magic. Halfway through the third glass he makes a noise of protest and tries to turn his head away to signal that he has had enough.

Gently, he rearranges him so Alejandro is nestled between his legs, wrapped up safely in his arms. He tucks his head under his chin and strokes the moist, tangled hair. “You should try to get some sleep.”

(That's more work than I can be bothered to put into my sandwiches, but it sounds delicious :D)
