that's bloody gorgeous. how can something like that come from nature?!! but then again, how can something like that not come from nature?! ahhhh questions for the ages
But who knows. Considering how alien they look, they very well could be conscious and capable of calling. Or maybe they're the next step in communicating while in the wild: half rotary phone device, half plant. Or maybe I need to go to sleep.
I was so thankful to have remembered my camera! Once, in passing, I saw those flowers out of the corner of my eye, but I'd forgotten about the moment until yesterday!
I'd love to see a fast forwarded movie of one blooming. I'm mostly interested in how the purple, white, and indigo tendrils unravel. I imagine the stamens spinning into life with a whizzing, flutey sound.
I fell in love with them awhile ago too.. I ran across them growing along a wall on the street up from half price books. They are beautiful aren't they?

I've had some awful work problems.
Last weekend I was in Vancouver. Got completely and totally smashed. The boy toy took care of me though.
But I miss you muchly. I think about you every time I load up my pokemon game (which apparently you've already beaten you flagrant overachiever.)
