I haven't slept for 2 days. TWO DAYS, PEOPLE!

As much as I'm enjoying the modules (the Modernist Novel; Theories in US Culture) in my postgraduate course, whenever I walk around campus, amongst the young and the beautiful, I can't help but feel fat, silly, irritated and redundant. And that everything may be too late.

I am so, so bored of dreaming about railway stations.

It was only during this morning's seminar on Swann's Way by Marcel Proust, that I remembered the dream from the night before, when I was eating a cake; not a madeleine, but an egg custard. Oh to get French with a madeleine.

The day has come, after a year of waiting; tomorrow I register at university for my postgraduate course. I want this to be the start of more than just studying; I need this to be the start of everythng else. I want change and I want life to be changed. I've bought, and consumed, more paracetemol in the last two months than I have in the last two years. Is it September yet? Once I get my campus card and start on my MA I'm going to move into the campus library and stay there forever. The library is one of the few places in the world I've felt calm and excited at the same time.

I haven't been on a holiday since 1995. That isn't normal, is it?
