DVDs

As Elisa continues to recover from her surgery (continuing to do well but still in some pain and mostly resting), if anyone has any DVDs with cool movies or, better yet, television series (serieses? I've never in my life been able to figure out the plural of that word), we'd love to borrow them. We've been hitting Blockbuster kind of hard ( Read more... )

A-Team (season one)
Dead Like Me (season one)

DVDs:
Bowling for Columbine
Duel to the Death
Frida
Kill Bill 1
Mirrormask

Huh. I don't have many videos (and those that I have are mostly PAL and in the UK), but I have Neverwhere and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. Came pretty close to getting Triplets, too.

DVDs in the right region and country:
Possession (romance with Aaron Eckhart, kind of about writing: If she hasn't seen it, she should)
Passion of The Christ (well, yeah)
City of God (which I know she's seen, but which is still neat, in case she's feeling too upbeat about life and wants to see Brazilian kids shooting each other and reminding her that the world isn't so great after all).
Serenity (I was wrong about the Reavers, sadly the commentary doesn't add a lot.)
Care Bears Movies/Little People (these should probably not be watched too near City of God, unless the power of her nostalgia is considerably stronger than her taste).
Other kiddie videos that might combine well with painkillers (In multiple foreign languages or no language and with repeating bright colours and random images).

M-W.com says
Inflected Form(s): plural series

I think of City of God as being a great ST film. Very good at setting up and describing its world, which is a pretty interesting world (Brazilian narco-slum from the 70s-80s). As I implied, I'm not sure Elisa's all about watching it again, but you might like it.
