As soon as Ianto had gotten done laughing at Jack for falling out of a tree he'd helped the older man get out of his clothes and into a hot shower. Jack's back had looked like some sort of goth patchwork quilt with his black and blue marks and Ianto had merely rolled his eyes and shoved the older man towards a fluffy towel when Jack had tried to

He had a good face for that.
"Good day, Deputy Wilson."

He knew Jack would have seen Marie on the CCTV and discreetly stashed anything alien like off his desk, so Ianto merely took his time leading Marie down to the double doors that lead into Jack's study.
It was perhaps a surprisingly bright room, the walls done in creams and a long bank of floor to ceiling French doors that spilled out into the back yard of the big house. There was a definite masculine touch in the dark leather of the furniture and the dark woods of the bookcases and desk that lined the rest of the room. A definite 1940's sensibility in the deep wingbacked chairs that sat by the fire and the large leather couch that ran up along one side of the desk.
Jack was behind said desk, though he stood and was making his way around it, the pillow still perched in the chair.

Ianto, meanwhile had returned with a perfectly laid out tea tray, which he set down on the low table in front of the couch.
"I mentioned 'crowns'," the young Welshman drawled. "He didn't find it funny."
"Because it wasn't," Jack harumphed and reached, stiffly, for his coffee.
Ianto merely smiled and politely held Marie's tea out to her before taking himself silently back out of the room.
"It wasn't!" Jack shouted at the door, before settling back to pout and look hopefully at Marie for sympathy.

"You were with Meg, though? Not Jill? And really, Jack, there are much easier places to get water."
Did he really think he'd get sympathy?

"Silly nursery rhyme anyway," Jack grouched. "Though, have you ever noticed how morbid nursery rhymes are? I mean, ring around the rosies is a horrid little tale."

She sipped her tea and then smiled. "I didn't stop by to tease you. I stopped by because I wasn't sure if you knew that Dean had a birthday coming up."
Reply
"I think I knew it was sometime soon but not the exact date."
Technically it would be on the file Ianto had worked up about Dean, though Jack hadn't done more than lightly scan that file, more for Dean's record than his stats.
