I heard coyotes!

Mar 01, 2011 23:02

I just mentioned to moonflowerz  the other day that I miss the sound of the coyotes, and tonight, wouldn't you know it, I heard them. In sub-frickin-urbia! It really made my day.

Plus I found one of the books on my watch list at Half Price Books. (Bucolic Plague - How two Manhattanites became gentleman farmers)

Plus I did 20 minutes of true CARDIO on the bike ( Read more... )

wildlife, suburban conversion, books, gym

Holy cow you heard them too? How cool is that? Ain't syncrhonicity grande? :)

I confess I'v been rather obsessed with the coyotes lately. I even went looking for them today. Shhhhhh.

I remember when I used to live close to chicago, once in a blue moon we'd hear them howling back at the train whistles during the full moon. Made me wonder what the heck they thought the trains were? Like the great mother spirit howl that they just had to answer back.

Half price books rocks!

Well done on the cardio bike! How does it work? Does your trainer guy help you set up routines or do you get to do your own thing now? Enjoy your bink bathtub :)

I don't mind coyotes, because we are in a balance and they aren't bad enough to mess with the chicken populations, although some people complain about their small dogs/cats disappearing.

I love Half Price Books. I found out there was another one open near my house. Oh boy...

The bike at the gym is programmed - you push buttons to set what kind of workout you want, enter your age, then start peddling. It monitors your heart rate. It makes it harder to cheat. But it gets a little boring because they only have FOXnews and basketball on the tvs.

I actually haven't talked to the trainer guy since that one session. I'm going again tomorrow. I use the sauna as an incentive - if I work out hard, I stretch out in the sauna. I'm kinda over protective about my hair - I have no idea if the heat is damaging. I might put a little bit of coconut oil on it before I go in and see what happens.

Hmmmm. I would think that since it's a moist heat, it might actually be really GOOD for your hair, especially if you have it wrapped up with oil in it :)

What do you use to wash your hair with? I'm looking for a good but cheap alternative to the standard shampoo in the grocery stores. My hairs are so dry and coarse and I know a lot of it is from overwashing :/

And only FOX news? Eeeck. Fox news is forbidden by the manperson in this house lol.

I think it's dry heat. Yesterday, I oiled it a lot before I went in, but neglected to wrap it in a towel. It got pretty hot! It's quite shiney today, though ( ... )
