I can't find my field guides, so I haven't been able to id these plants.
1. I have several of these trees, and one is growing at the base of the fig. I think I'm going to cut that one down.
ETA: I believe this is the tree that stays green all winter, and the fruit stay about the same size but turn black .
2. I got this at a nursery, but they didn't know what it was. ETA: It's not a hoya.
3. This little plant is only about 3 inches high, and it's in the flower beds. I don't know if it's a weed or not!
ETA: White violet. Invasive groundcover.
4. This is another unidentified tree, it's leaves and flowers.
ETA: Mulberry tree
5. A large bush that smells almost like a gardenia. I don't think it's a hawthorn, but I could be wrong.
ETA Identified! Pittosporum, aka Japanese cheesewood.
6. very small plants in the grass, with red fruit.
ETA: Identified! Mock Strawberry
7. A succulent that was left by the previous owners. It drapes over the side of the pot.
8. Another tree. The center pieces of the flower are purple.
ETA - this is a chinaberry tree, toxic to horses.
