Book review - Comeback Farms by Greg Judy

Why I read this book: I am studying pastured cattle farming because I want to learn techniques that will help me keep my horse grass fed on one acre. I feed hay, but not grain. I also want to take ( Read more... )

Ever heard of Polyface Farm in Virginia?

I love the idea they express - "We're really in the earthworm enhancement business. Stimulating soil biota is our first priority. Soil health creates healthy food."

Polyface uses chickens as the next step after the cattle graze. Interesting stuff!

Yes! I just discovered them recently - one of Salatin's books is staring at me, waiting to be read. I'd love to visit their place one day.

It's just amazing to me how far we have gotten from the natural way of things.
