I finished the reading and "reviewing"
Comeback Farms and processed some useful information.
Now I am reading Holy Shit and I'm about 1/2 through it. ETA - finished the book, well, sorta. I started skipping points when I was disagreeing too much with what he said, or the way he said it.

Yesterday I finally bought my hens two bowls that attach on the side of the wire of the coop. Now, I have a water dish that they can't dump over, and an appropriately sized food dish. Happy chicken times! Such a small change makes such a big difference.
As for cows and horses, cows don't have upper teeth, so they pull the grass - I think they only eat the tops? Horse have teeth and will bite off grass super close to the ground if they feel they have too. I saw a good post on that somewhere... I'll have to dig it up.

The Humanure Handbook was pretty interesting - I'm just not sure it would go over well in my household.
One book I think you would really like is Joel Salatin's "You Can Farm." Tons of advice and things to think about when starting a farm-to-market business. You might have already read it.
I wanted to do more book reviews, but I'm having to read these books so fast that I haven't had the time.
