The first dream had been a simple one. She couldn’t really recall anything about life, afterall she’d been a doll to experiment on, but she remembered her name. She knew her name and a few other things and so she could somehow envision a park. Before she’d dreamed of being alone in the park, being able to run and sing and do a lot of things she couldn’t do anymore. That time she dreamed of Allelujah. He pushed her on the swing and there was a definite happiness in the air. Wasn’t that something friends would do?
It wasn’t easy to wake up to. She had never cried out to Allelujah before because she had believed he would always come, but for the first time she had wanted to cry out and ask him if he was still there. She couldn’t bring herself to do it.
The second dream had been very detailed, but it had no sound. She was 16 and she was able to walk. She could see the sky and she could walk into stores. She walked into one and she saw the figure she’d imagined Allelujah to be a few years later. He had waved to her and she smiled and sat down across from him at a table. She got something to eat and it tasted nice, but she didn’t think much of it. It was nice to have a quaint happiness with Allelujah. Wasn’t that something you did with someone you cared for?
When she woke up the dream was only a passing thought. She wasn’t Marie Parfacy anymore, she was Soma Peries. She seldom left the Super Soldier research facility, she was mostly being conditioned into perfection. She didn’t remember Allelujah, she didn’t remember herself. Somewhere deep under Soma Peries was Marie Parfacy, who again did not cry out. She knew Allelujah couldn’t hear her even if she desperately needed an answer- to know that somehow Marie Parfacy still existed.
The last dream was bright and had many vivid sounds. Allelujah’s face was so visible and clear. Half the dream was just about him and it was so nice. But the other half was Marie walking and doing things on her own and being Marie Parfacy. It made the moment she touched Allelujah feel even nicer, she was able to walk and talk and make friends and she could still see Allelujah. She kissed him and her face was red even though it was far from the first time. That was something you did with someone you loved.
When she woke up she was Marie Parfacy and she was naked. She could feel her face turning red and yet her mouth turned into a smile. Allelujah was there and he was not a dream. She opened her mouth and spoke, “Allelujah?” she questioned. A sleepy Allelujah turned to face her, “Yes, Marie?” And she smiled at him. The thought she had in mind was ‘I love you’, but she didn’t need to say it. He smiled back at her and had a red face himself, but he pulled her closer.
And she could feel a resounding echo in her body that told her time and again that she was awake, and most importantly she was Marie, and he was Allelujah- and they were there together.
