Red Wine, 'I Never', & Revelations After Dinner
With The Doctor & Aislinn's individual help to locate the linens & other things, Romana set a table filled with charmingly mismatched settings almost reminiscent of the Mad Tea Party. Candles of various sizes & colours flickered amongst the serving dishes set in the midst of the table.
And on the whole, Romana's culinary efforts came off quite well. True, she still seemed to be learning how to get bread to work for her -- the foccacia was a little on the too-crusty side, but it worked satisfactorily as bread to sop up the excess sauce from the main dish (fettucine in marinara sauce, with pieces of grilled chicken breast mixed in). Broccoli and asparagus were palatable side-dishes. All of that was finished and set aside now, and the extra plates cleared away to serve dessert -- fresh strawberries to be dipped in chocolate fondue or whipped cream. And of course, there was red wine.
Romana stretched in a relaxed manner, her expression eminantly pleased in the intimate low light from the candles. "Now that dinner's over...what shall we do? There ought to be some kind of game we can play, instead of just hurrying off in separate directions."
