I've read the epic and I must confess I am rather intrigued at your choice of "mother". It's a lovely choice, and it says quite a bit about you as a woman, I should venture to say.

Greetings, Nyssa! I've heard of you from the Doctor, and I'm glad to make your acquaintance in person.

What I like about Penelope is that in many ways, the system is against her, and clearly if she attempts to go against the system (i.e., Tradition), it will not work. So instead, she uses Tradition/convention to hold her suitors at bay, buying more time. And she's cautious, even when her desired outcome (the return of her husband) appears -- it's still essential to test him to be absolutely sure he is what he claims to be.

Odysseus was renouned for being a clever strategist, and clearly he chose an equally intelligent woman as his queen.

*listens* She's a strong, intelligent woman. She kept on where so many would have let go. It makes me wonder what I would do in such a situation...

I quite agree. They are a well matched pair, aren't they?
