Summary: Zack prepares a chocobo to take him into town. He's got Turk hunting in mind, but has yet to realise that the hunter is actually being hunted himself.

It was morning again, and Selphie had risen nearly at the break of dawn. Ever the restless kind of girl, she couldn't bear to just stay in bed- instead, she was wandering the ship in the early daylight once again, curiously peeking around for something to occupy her time until Edea and Rinoa woke up.

It was by chance (or maybe fate?) when Selphie spotted Zack heading towards the Chocobo stables- what was he doing up so early? And with the Chocobos, no less? It didn't matter- this seemed like the perfect time for them to have a little chat of sorts.

And, like a ninja, Selphie nearly leap out at the pair, causing for the bird to squawk loudly at the sudden burst of yellow before it. A sweet, maybe even a little devious smile formed across her lips as she greeted in a sing song voice, "Hiya Zack!"

The doors leading to the outside began to open up moments before someone leapt out and caused his ride to squawk loudly in surprise. Gripping onto the reins tightly to keep the chocobo with him, the only reason Zack didn't reach for his weapon was due to the familiar voice.

A cheerful grin naturally spread over his face as he turned around to face the one in question. If he was to take her expression at face-value, then there was no doubt that she was cooking up some form of trouble within that mind of hers. It was a look he often got when he was doing just the same thing.

"Mornin'," He happily greeted while reaching up to give a comforting pat to his ride, "I'm surprised to see you up so early. Couldn't sleep?"

"Sorry Birdie!" Selphie cooed at the surprised Chocobo- it gave a rather indignant squawk when the petite girl reached out to pat its head gently. She paid no attention, though; there were far more important things that needed to get done than to worry about the emotional trauma the bird might endure from her sudden appearance!

Her tactic was simple- ease into the small talk, and nonchalantly mention Yuna at the first possible moment. It seemed subtle enough, even for herself! She only hoped that her excitement wouldn't blow her cover.

"Nah, I'm just an early riser!" Selphie replied with a grin, her hands clasping behind her back as she rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. "What about you, mister? Taking the Chocobo out for an early morning ride?"

"You miss out on too much of the day if you sleep in too much," Zack muttered in good-humour. Granted, he'd been known to sleep in until noon from time to time, but the previous night had been filled with way too much alcohol or it had been done to simply annoy the General. He really needed to get back to that pastime.

Zack's thoughts came to a complete halt, however, at Selphie's sudden reference to him. Mister... Mister?! He didn't look that old did he? Mister was something people called his dad, or something. Oh man, Cloud was so going to rub that in when he found out. That was just what he needed.

Reaching up to rub at the back of his head, the SOLDIER chuckled at his own thoughts before he muttered, "Nah, there are some other Timeless, friends, that were left behind in Junon. I'm heading out to make sure that they're both alright." Peering over at Selphie, Zack grinned as he asked, "Wanna join me?"
