Irreverently, even though I love this whole scene, the thing I always remember most is Jack's super-pouty-face when Ianto didn't say it was him - he missed the point that Ianto only spoke up at all to make everyone uncomfortable.

It's so true. I think on some level perhaps he hasn't forgiven Jack either.

I have watched that scene so many times, trying to make sense of that look.
I can't work out why Jack is pouting.
Is he annoyed Ianto dismissed his kiss? Or annoyed that Ianto joined the game after Jack had effectively ended it with his own non-commital answer? If so, is he pissed that Ianto obviously only did it to make Gwen feel bad and if that is the case is Jack mad because he is protective of Gwen or because Ianto has just alienated himself further from the team, despite Jack's attempts to integrate him with this field trip?

Ianto lied, but I can't say I blame him, the others deserved to be reminded, especially thoughtless Gwen. I think Ianto's still a little unhappy with Jack too.

Ianto did lie. But even after watching that scene about a million times I can work out his motivation, or why Jack was so upset by it. There is a lot of subtext going on in that look, but I don't know what it is!

It was a rough answer, making for a very awkward moment. It was particularly thoughtless of Gwen starting that game. I think she managed to upset or embarrass everyone with it!
