I know the Time Lord Council sometimes sent the Doctor on missions or assigned him tasks but for the life of me, none is coming to mind and I have no idea how to search this

They sent him to deal with Omega in the anti-matter dimension in The Three Doctors. I don't remember if they were the ones who sent the Fourth Doctor looking for the fragments of the Key to Time or if that was some other entity.
Oh Thank you! Oh yes, I remember a bit of that now! Yeah, the Key to Time was the Eternals so that wasn't going to work for what I needed. Thank you so much for responding!
