From here on, this blog will be friends-only. I may or may not delete or hide existing public entries - there are tons of them - but I doubt I'll write anymore. So if you're a lurker whom I have not already added, comment and I'll consider adding you so you can read my stuff.

I'll add you, but be forewarned, it's not often that I talk science on my personal blog. I'm more likely to talk personal-existential stuff and socio-political stuff. It's happened more often than usual though in recent weeks. I had fun doing my public post on the LHC and why it will not cause death by black hole to the Earth. I was just talking about the black hole thing again today with my boyfriend's dad, who was worried about that. I brought it up when he talked about how he knew enough about architecture to lay conspiracy theories about the 9/11 building collapses to rest. I told him I felt the same way about black holes and the LHC.

No, you're the normal one for not having heard of it. ;)

It's a personality typing and self-understanding system that's somewhat popular among New Agers, esoteric spiritualists, and people who like to take personality quizzes on the internet, but virtually unheard of by anyone else. There are 9 basic personality types, and they're often modified by "wings" (similarity to a personality type "next to" one's own) and "instincts" (self-preserving, social, and sexual). Each type also has another type it can "pull from" in times of stress or security, called the Direction of Disintegration and the Direction of Integration, respectively.
