it's because according to Christianity as an exoteric authoritarian body the whole point of earthly life is to be forgiven of sin. How can a fetus killed in the womb accomplish what God has intended for it?

of course it's all circular and hypocritical. How exactly is life sacred if you are pro death penalty which would rob a criminal of the same thing.

it's a huge mistake to interpret things according to your own values. You have to understand how the other thinks. And fact is that most christians are not evil people who wake up in the morning and try to figure out ways to be hypocritical and step on other people's rights. You have to figure out how the enemy thinks in order to know how to correct them.

I hadn't thought of it from that angle...but indeed, if that's the case, killing a murderer on the way to confession would be just about the same thing, except maybe that the murderer had been given previous chances to exercise free will and clean up. So that would kind of be degree of sinfulness again.

I don't think most Christians are evil. I think they're trying to do good and making mistakes, as we all do. Some of them big ones, as is the case for all of us. Even if it is more about sexual morality, they would still see that as a good thing to fight for.
