apperception came up with this idea way back when I first started the Dancing with the Galaxies polls. I liked the idea and the name, but I didn't want to do it in the midst of the DWTG series. But now that DWTG is long since over, it's time. This time, there will only be one poll, because I could find only four real-life galaxy cluster collision images

717 really is the more aesthetically pleasing one. I think if the photos were done better, bullet or 1222 would have looked as nice too.

It's really the blue and purple that finally does it for 717. Are these false color images, or close approximations to the actual visible light that comes from these clusters?

From what I understand, all the blue and purple is X-rays from Chandra. It's the diffuse, heavily ionized intracluster gas that's glowing.
