PMMM Wiki drama CD 1 translationAbilities & Physical Abnormalities: Homura is a Puella Magi with powers over time manipulation. The shield she wears on her left arm has the ability to freeze or reset time, with the maximum she can reset being one month, before her meeting with Madoka. When the sand in the shield runs out, she can't use her abilities.
Her shield also acts as hammerspace of sorts; Homura can store a large arsenal of explosives and firearms in it, for later use.
Homura possesses a Soul Gem, like the other girls, and it is located on her left hand while transformed; when not transformed, it can be minimized into the form of a ring on her left middle finger, a diamond mark on the fingernail of that finger.
When in range of Kyuubey, Homura is presumably capable of telepathically communicating with the other Puella Magi, as well.
It should be noted that becoming a Puella Magi also grants Homura enhanced durability and reflexes. Her power also allowed her to (later on) do things such as fix her eyesight and presumably her heart condition, though Homura at this point in canon still has those.
Personality: Before the multiple time resets, Homura was a shy and insecure girl, who had trouble expressing her feelings entirely, which also led to a lot of self-doubt. As someone who spent a great deal of time in the hospital due to a heart condition, Homura is awkward in her new environment, wanting to fit in, but finding it hard to do so; she can barely manage to write down the answers to a math equation on the board in class, and feels overwhelmed when asked questions by her new classmates.
Add to the fact that she can't even get through gym class without passing out, though that turned out to be partially accidentally the result of Madoka using her magic so that Homura could make the jump... and then being incapable of stopping the magic, and she essentially is very helpless and in her own thoughts, useless. This makes her an easy target for the witch, Izabel, who attempts to lure Homura into killing herself, though Mami and Madoka come to her rescue before anything can happen.
Perhaps the most influential person in Homura's life is Madoka Kaname. Having the cheerful and energetic girl come to her aid, Homura feels a small sense of gratitude towards the other girl, though she also, at the same time, feels a sense of embarrassment that someone else has to come bail her out of trouble. Madoka is also the reason Homura became a Puella Magi; after her death to Walpurgis in the first timeline, Homura makes a wish to redo her meeting with Madoka, to protect instead of being protected. As a result, Homura winds up contracting with Kyuubey, and gaining the power to reset time; upon the first reset, Homura walks right up to Madoka on her first day of class, and excitedly declares that she's a Puella Magi now, as well. This leads to Homura coming along with Mami and Madoka to hunt witches, and to learn the ropes about being a Puella Magi.
This also leads to a lot of awkward shenanigans with Homura learning how to most effectively battle.
Homura's helplessness and clumsiness tends to get the best of her, in general, as she's seen in the first timeline telling Madoka that they should run away, instead of Madoka fighting Walpurgis solo. In Homura's mind, there's nothing they can do, especially as Mami just died, and, thus, it's a hopeless fight. Add Madoka dying from her wounds after the battle, and Homura's just feels even more hopeless, leading her to her wish.
"I want to redo my meeting with Kaname-san. Instead of being protected by her, I want to protect her!"
By the end of the third timeline, though, Homura's admiration towards Madoka turns into dedication towards a cause; having watched Madoka turn into a witch once already, Madoka saves Homura's Soul Gem from becoming fully corrupted with a Grief Seed she had been hiding, and requests Homura to prevent her from becoming a Puella Magi, before asking Homura to shoot her Soul Gem, so that she won't become a witch. This leads to Homura's new goal as of the fourth timeline onward: to save Madoka, no matter how many times it takes, by preventing her from becoming a Puella Magi.
What are your plans for the character in-game? To see how well she'd do in an entirely new setting, having to go through getting adjusted to an entirely new school environment, but without Madoka to help her out when things get bad.
Anything else? Nope!

She felt so overwhelmed at times. It was only understandable that after spending half a year in the hospital due to her heart condition, that she would need a little time in catching up, but why did it feel like she never would? Even with the help of Kaname Madoka, Homura still sometimes thought she heard the whispers of the other students, about how pathetic she was. Couldn't she do anything right? No wonder she had become a target of Izabel, back during her first instance of meeting Madoka, before becoming a Puella Magi herself. And, now, Homura had a second objective she wanted so desperately to accomplish, to protect Madoka, rather than being protected by her. After watching Madoka take on Walpurgis, and die fighting, Homura had made her wish, contracted with Kyuubey, and became a Puella Magi.
Even despite this, Homura still felt helpless when it came to fighting; she had researched explosives on the internet, to get an idea as to how to put her abilities of time manipulation to use, but it was pretty nerve-wrecking, when it came down to it, to actually put it to use. What if something went wrong? Madoka and Mami would be so disappointed in her, Homura felt. She would just have to work harder, to be as skilled as they were. Surely, with enough practice, she would be able to take down Walpurgis Night together with the other two Puella Magi, and they could protect this city's people. And, well, maybe Homura could also improve upon being able to stand up for herself in the meantime, and to not feel so pathetic, when it came to her everyday life. She doubted she would ever fully be capable of managing to accomplish this, but, even if it was just by a little bit, she would keep trying.
It was worth a thought, anyway.
