So, if I wanted to make an English dinner to celebrate the Jubilee -- what would you recommend.

Unfortunately, my family doesn't like pasties.

This is my favorite Christmas dinner. Unfortunately, it's hot today and we have no AC, so I can't see wanting to turn my oven on enough for this dish. But, you know my tastes!!

I can definitely understand not wanting to make it with no AC.

Being Irish, myself, I am not observing the Jubilee so instead I am roasting a chicken in the crock pot and serving it with Hawaiian Coleslaw.

I found a recipe for coronation chicken. I'm thinking about making it and people can either eat that or some other sandwich for dinner. Sausage rolls look kinda fun too.

Actually, how about roast crown of lamb? Couple of good recipes on the BBC

This from the Hairy Bikers Best of British http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/triple-crown_roast_of_08690

and this one is a bit more straightforward http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/roastedcrownoflambwi_91128

This looks amazing. Unfortunately, it's hot today and we have no ac, so I'm not as inclined to turn on the oven as long. But, I will bookmark this for when it cools off. I've wanted to try a crown of lamb.

Yes, heat would be a problem. Did you see the link at the side to the Jubilee recipe collection? There might be some ideas in there http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/collections/diamond_jubilee_street_party
