WOW, we should put female boxers in skirts so we can tell the difference between male and female boxers.  I'm glad they have finally decided that beach volleyball players are not required to wear a bikini.  Why are we still so backwards. . . .

Ha, no way! Even figure skating has let the women wear pants!

I guess it's because the Olympics are international. No. That's really giving this too much credit. It's a ratings thing as the sports compete during their quadrennial audition for television contracts, which are diminishing, of course. *looking at figure skating telecasts receding in the rearview*

If only they would realize the reason I don't watch much of the Olympics is because they show so few events. I don't watch them to see the three top events and athletes or hear about every bit of adversity that every althete seems to have encountered but instead want to see as many events as possible

Actually, I noted her way of taking it backwards, in that she said skirts only equate to sex and don't have a place in a gladiatorial sport, and I was left thinking that gladiators in skirts seems right by me, and I'd be happy to see more men in them.

But then again, men in skirts always get a vote from me.

I thought the same! I'd be perfectly happy if they all--male and female--dressed as gladiators. :D

Or just more men in skirts, in general. Or we could ask the male beach volleyball competitors to wear speedos.
