Convo. with Zacharias in Hufflepuff common room - 1/5/05
Zacharias and Susan catch up on gossip, being Hufflepuffs, and the DA, among other things.
Zacharias: I know. Have you talked to him[Harry]?
Susan: Nope not yet, but I was planning on owling him about the DA. Have you heard if it's going to start up again?
Zacharias: No, I haven't talked to him. I try to avoid him unless it's necessary. Though if he is starting it up, would you tell me about it?
Susan Sure, no problem. I know you two don't particularly like to associate.
Zacharias: Exactly.

Zacharias: Oh, by the way ... I've made friends with Cho Chang. Sort of.
Susan: Oh really? I didn't know you two actually talk.
Zacharias: We don't ... or we didn't.
Susan: Oh, ::nods:: that bad?
Zacharias: I don't know. It's weird. She's kind of a bitch. but I think she's pretty cool.
Susan: Well, I've never really talked with her before ... maybe I
should.
Zacharias: I feel kind of bad for her, actually. She seems awful lonely, what with no one really talking to her. She's not that bad.
Susan: Scratch that, I will try. Lonely is not fun at all.
Zacharias: Thanks - that's how Hannah was exactly. We're lucky that we're Hufflepuffs and we can stick together. I don't think they have quite the same sentiment in Ravenclaw.

Zacharias: In case you haven't heard, Hannah and Ernie aren't really doing so well.
Susan: Oh no! What happened?
Zacharias: Hannah's actually been pretty screwed up. Apparently they aren't talking. I don't really know all the details ... some sort of argument. Over Harry Potter, I think.
Susan: That's awful! I hope they set everything straight ... maybe I should send her some Honeydukes chocolate!

Convo. with Harry in the Library - 1/6/05
Susan and Harry discuss the restarting of the DA and Patronuses.
Susan: Well, last year I really enjoyed it[the DA] and I was just wondering if it was going to start up again and maybe if we could make it official?
Harry: *thinks* Well, I have no idea if Dumbledore has plans for it this year.
Susan: He does know about it then? I was wondering.
Harry: Dumbledore knows evrything! *laughs* Well..I think it will start again...
Susan: That would be great! ::grins::
Harry: You enjoyed it then? *smiles*
Susan: Absolutely! I really want to try and master the Patronus
incantation.
Harry: *nods* Well..I'll have to think about it and probably discuss it with Hermione. But I can teach you that charm anyway, if you'd like.
Susan: That would be great! It's diffucult for me, all I get is mist.
Harry: *chuckles* Well, it took me some time to really master it too, and even then it is not an easy spell.
Susan: Hmmm, ::thinks:: There has got to be some key point that I'm missing...
Harry: Probably...it's in the little things.
Susan: It's really hard to find the perfect happy memory though. I do try to block out bad memories sometimes, doesn't help much.

PRIVATE! On perservering... - 1/6/05
Susan contemplates why she can't master the Patronus charm. This is Susan's big plot here becuase she has to deal with family memories that she has blocked out or forgotten altogether. This will come more into play later on. Susan also goes on to explain why she is definitely not a quitter.

Susan finds out about Hannah's father's death after having an emotionally draining conversation with Hannah (which wasn't posted, forgot to save it, I think). Susan worries about how she isn't able to help comfort and support
Hannah like she feels she should be able to.

Basically, Susan knows that Dennis has a crush on her because he is really obvious about it. Susan does not want to hurt his feelings, though, and hopes that Dennis will get over her soon.

She is torn between reading the news and knowing that it comes from the Quibbler. The article makes her promise to herself to study harder so she can be fully prepared for whatever may happen in the future.

Susan sends a letter to her Aunt Amelia after reading the article. She asks her aunt to send her some family photo albums in hopes that they will help her find a true happy memory.

I did have a post up where Susan finally finds her Patronus but I took it down because it seemed too soon for her plot to finish.
I'm looking forward to everyone else's recaps so it's easier to remember all that has happened!
