Suddenly the Infinite Looks Like Home

This is way different than what I had originally started with. :3 It's uber cute in my opinion, but I'm biased. Oh and of course Snape and Dyanel tension will always be there. ^_^

Teaser: "They were in love and there was no separating them."

Lupin wrapped his arm around Dyanel's small frame and pulled her to him. He didn't want to let her go. She stirred, moving her smooth legs against his own. Lupin closed his eyes, he felt lucky he was allowed to be this close. He felt Dyanel's head move, and he looked down at her blue-gray eyes staring up at him. She smiled softly and she moved to kiss the corner of his mouth.

“Good Morning” She remarked, the smile didn't fade from her face.

“Morning.” He said, kissing her forehead.

Dyanel laid her head back down on his chest. As she laid her head on his chest, the events of the previous day flooded back to her. Severus' declaration, Linx's newfound information, Alondra's accusation, and Remus laying with her now. She felt compelled to cry, her emotions mounting up. She was not the best creature to deal with emotions, demons usually knew darkness and hatred. Things had been different since the death of her father. No one was there to help her through the thoughts that tormented her. She betrayed her kingdom laying on the bed naked and sated from a werewolf. They were creatures that were supposed to be killed immediately, Remus had been with her and under the kingdom's supervision when they had gone to Greece. Gabriel had changed the law, but Gabriel also had his people to listen to first. Dyanel would not sacrifice his loyalty to the kingdom to protect her. She looked back at Lupin and as if he had been reading her thoughts he asked her what was wrong. Dyanel stared at him, feeling guilt rush into her body. She had lead him on, a life with him would condemn her forever. He wasn't Sirius Black who was a wizard and not of a race that had hunted Dyanel's and Linx's race over the centuries.

Dyanel frowned and looked away from him. “We'd be living a lie. One that'd destroy us if we weren't together, but being with you...” She paused, trying not to allow the words to sound as harsh as they did in her head. “I love you Remus. I always have and there is no doubt about that. Even when I was with Sirius, I knew in the back of my mind that he could never satisfy me because he was not you. You are the joy and light in my life.” She told him tears coming to her eyes.

Remus sat up and Dyanel followed the sheet as it moved downward. Lupin put his hand on her face and Dyanel closed her eyes to his warm and gentle touch. "What can I do? I will do anything that you ask." He whispered, kissing her cheek as his thumb rubbed her tears.

She looked at him apologetically. "From the moment I met you, not a day has gone by when I haven't thought of you." Dyanel sobbed. “I just... I just know that if we follow our thoughts through to conclusion, it'll take us to a place we cannot go - regardless of the way we feel about each other. I am deadly to you.” She stated, looking away from him.

Remus wrapped his arms around her. “Come what may Dyanel, I want to be with you. I want to see you, like this, or messy hair, sick even, every night. I feel human with you and that's a feeling I cannot remember feeling. If you fear for your life, come away with me and leave your demon life while you still can. You're not evil Dyanel. You cannot be. You dream, there has never been a study where immortals dreamed.” Remus told her.

Dyanel stared at him in disbelief at his words. She couldn't run, not now with a toddler and a steady job waiting for her. She stared at him. “We'd be living a lie. One we could not keep even if we wanted to.” She told him, sitting up to make an attempt to walk away while she still could muster the strength.

“And you aren't living one by walking away? Dyanel, we can work. You out of all people know that living takes work. You can't believe that it'll magically be all right. Life doesn't allow it to be. I love Genesis as if she were my own. The moment I saw her in your arms till the day I left I have thought of nothing more than helping you. I want to help you Dyanel and I love you that much to do more than just that. I need you just as much as you need me. Just admit it already.” Remus was starting to shout.

Dyanel had gotten up and put her clothes on during his speech. She was trying with so much strength to walk away. She had to, she wasn't going to kill him to satisfy herself. It had left her lonely too many times. She walked to the door, knowing that Remus would be all right by himself since it was morning. She walked out of the house and through the snow. The cold was not bothering her at all. She trekked back to her house, ignoring the morning activity around her. She would not cry in public. It was something she had always insisted in herself. She walked passed Madam Puddifoot's and ignored the whiff of tea she received. It wasn't stopping her today. She heard snow crunch behind her and Dyanel froze in her steps. Remus had followed her. It was predictable but she didn't want to see him again. If she saw him at this moment she knew she'd end up in his arms. She turned, seeing Severus Snape staring at her with slight curiosity.

Dyanel stared back at him. Knowing she looked like a mess, she wiped her nose. “Severus, you and Remus Lupin both have an act for appearing at the worst times. I'm starting to think you're the same person.” Dyanel stated.

Severus scowled. “In actuality, I was not here to meet your acquaintance, but Ms. Prewitt sent me an owl last night and requested that I meet her at Madame Puddifoot's I saw you and figured you might have seen her since your two were very close back in school.” Snape said, looking at her carefully.

Dyanel shrugged. “I haven't seen her this morning.” She replied honestly.

Severus inclined his head up to Dyanel, she turned around seeing Ember make her way toward the two. Dyanel gave her friend a small smile as she kicked up snow. Ember walked over, something hanging down from her arm. She handed it to Dyanel.

“Here, that's Remus' coat. I forgot to hand it to you yesterday.” She told Dyanel placing it in her arms.

Severus scowled as Dyanel was given the coat. Dyanel looked at Severus. “Don't worry Severus, Ember has no relationship to Remus Lupin beside the connection I have with him.” Dyanel stated.

Snape smirked at Dyanel. “Of course we all know your connection with him. I hope Ember's not that close to him as you are. I like my bride to be completely mine.” Severus remarked.

Dyanel's eyes went wide as Ember blushed a bit and smiled proudly. “I was going to tell you Dy, but with all the troubles yesterday, I couldn't get around to it.” Ember remarked.

Dyanel stared at Severus. “Congratulations.” Dyanel remarked happily. She looked at Snape who stared at her hard. Funny. You didn't mention marriage yesterday. She sent to him while there was a small pause.

Snape looked down at Ember who's arm intertwined with Snape's. Funny. I never knew a demon and a werewolf could actually stand each other, let alone fall in love. He sent to her.

Dyanel made a strong attempt not to glare at him. Look who's calling the kettle black Snape. You could think the same of a Death Eater. Have you told her? Dyanel inquired.

Severus cleared his throat. “Come on Ember, we shouldn't keep the mother away from her child for too long.” He quipped with a very sour expression.

Dyanel gave a nod. “Have a good day Ember. If you need anything, just owl me.” Dyanel stated with a smile.

Ember waved, as she began to walk to Puddifoot's with Snape. Dyanel gripped the coat in her arms and she let out a sigh. She did not want Remus to freeze. She may be broken at the moment, but seeing Remus dead would certainly be one of the top things to drive her to her death. She disappeared and reappeared in his room. Remus was sitting at the edge of the bed with his pants on and bare feet. His hair was messy and his head was dropped down as if he was defeated. She watch him as his hands moved to run through his hair and wipe his face. He let out a deep breath and he looked over at her.

“You always smell good.” Remus said in a soft voice. “It makes your presence soothing.” He added.

Dyanel took a step forward. “Ember gave me your jacket.” She held it out to him. “It's a bit cold out, but a pretty clear day.” She stated.

Remus nodded and he stood up, to walk over to her. Dyanel held out the jacket to him. Remus took it, his free hand pushing back her hair. It was curled, but messy. Her skin was more radiant than pale and her eyes were magnificently bright, but sad. He lifted her chin up and he leaned down to meet her lips in a strong passionate kiss. Dyanel responded and they knew at that moment that it did not matter what would happen, it would just happen to them together. They were in love and there was no separating them.
