my mom goes through these phases. they usually last a couple like 3 years, its where she is really really really into something like puts everything she has into it, and then one day she is done. the first one i remember was birds, then horses, then franks, then dogs. and i am thinking dogs is coming to an end

i like the part where you said she was into "franks, then dogs" because it sounds like she went into back-to-back hot dog phases.
