I've been setting out food for the rats.Every survival book I've ever read says it's a very bad thing to do,but they seem to be leaving me alone,so I'm not so sure.I installed some alarms throughout the warehouse today.If the monster something tries to eat me,I'll know beforehand.

I bet that not only are you attracting more rats by feeding them, but you're luring the monster closer.. heh heh. It wants to eat the rats, you know, but it'll notice you and decide you're much better food.
