When I was in grad school, the women (PhD candidates, likely to be in the program more or less forever) would agonize about when to have the baby they wanted. One advisor made a very good point. She said, basically, that when you consider that there's really no good time to do it, if you want to do it, do it now. Then you won't regret waiting and waiting and waiting and if you wait long enough maybe you won't be able to any more.
I love how you have planned this all out. "I want to have kid no.1 by 26. I will be done by age 35"
As someone who has said baby, it never works out as planned. You just do what you gotta do and things will work out, b/c you make them work. You are speaking in purely logical terms and when it comes to babies there is very little logic. Hormones will make your life so wonderful and a living hell all at the same time. Cuz let me tell you the I want another child thing hit me hard when Shawn turned a year. Logically I can't and wont, but emotions are key, and you are/will be in a stable relationship with someone who absolutely loves and adores you so things might change.
Have the plan and use it as a guideline and goal but don't think too hard. I truly believe that "Everything happens for a reason" Yes I know corny, but I was given Shawn for a reason, even though my circumstances are less then perfect.
I love you, and miss you!

P.S When you do get preggers I have this AWESOME book you need to read.
