If you don't mind answering... about how much do utilities cost for a house/apartment?

Depends on which ones...

For our townhouse:
Water: $55/2 months
Gas: $~60/month, averaged out throughout the year.
Electricity: ~$60/mo

So... in total, maybe $150/mo.

I only pay electricity on my current place... tends to be around $20-25 per month.

3 bedroom town house with crappy windows and ancient gas furnace:

Hydro $150 every two months (so $75 a month).
Gas Less then $70 through Late spring to early fall depending on temperature and as much as $185 during the winter months.
Our water is included in our rent.

For apartments... older apartments are generally boiler heat and your water is included in your rent so you are generally just paying personal hydro. On Cherry street we ran about $80-90 every two months (40-45$ a month).

That helpful?

Note for hydro in the apartment that was with Andrew running two computers all the time and we own a small chest freezer.

ours is inclusive, although at the end of the summer we have to pay a 20$ fee if we have had an air conditioner running during the summer.
