This was not how you imagined spending his birthday, but it wasn’t like you were complaining. After all, after these past three years, that call was the best one you had ever gotten.
“Are you ready?” Ryeowook asks you over the phone. Your breath catches in your throat. It’s time. It is finally time. And somehow through you harsh breathing you manage a decipherable “Yes.” All the while, your eyes trail the airport for the mop of hair you knew would belong to Donghae. After all, how could you not know the other?
That’s what you were thinking before you go the wind knocked out of you by said fishy. “Wow! You look… wow!” Chuckling at Donghae, you two exchange a proper greeting and hug before he helps you with your luggage to the waiting car. You can’t wait. Nearly bouncing in your seat.
It had been agreed that you all would meet up in one of the dorms before he arrived back. And in came the flooding memories. The timeline of your life together with him. From the first meeting, to the first kiss. But then of course the driver had to roughly jerk to a stop, breaking you beautiful picture memory slide show. At least you could always go back to look at it some more.
Up you guys went to meet the others. There were 11 others up there. Yep, Kibum had decided to reappear for his birthday. KangIn made a quick call that involved several colorful curse words that Teukie Omma refused to relay to you. But you didn’t mind.
Without any more time to think, you were thrust into the decorating for the surprise birthday party.

“SURPRISE!” You were fairly sure that the group of friends nearly burst his eardrums but you couldn’t help but snicker to yourself a little. He looked so happy. Shocked, but truly happy. You didn’t blame him. To have such awesome friends to do this for you, you sometimes wished you were him. But then you would take back the thought because if you were him, things wouldn’t be as they were at the moment.
You waited a bit till everyone started stuffing their faces and getting drunk. Across the room you caught Yesung’s smiling, knowing eyes. He turned and somehow managed to get Sungmin away from the birthday boy. Those two seriously needed to just got their problems solved. You knew that Sungmin would never admit he was gay. But you could see that he was. For the lead singer at least.
With a thanking nod and a smile, you moved to him. Yesung helped you out. You weren’t about to let this opportunity pass by. Coming from behind him, you cover his eyes, steering him out to the balcony while ignoring his (weak) protests.
Cool air dancing around the two of you, you move so you are looking at his face, hands still covering his warm, loving eyes. Not thinking you move in closer, soft lip connecting with his. For a moment it seemed as if he would push you away when he moved his arms, but instead, you found yourself pulled in closer, bodies molding against each other.
“Happy Birthday,” you whisper breathlessly.
“You know what? This is by far the best birthday yet,” he tells you and laugh. From inside you can spot Heechul with a camcorder but you figure you’ll just steal the disc later while also hiding his favorite shirt in Kyuhyun’s room.
“I’m think I agree with you although it isn’t my birthday,” you joke. But then it’s quiet for a few seconds. “I missed you.” It was painful saying the words.
“I did too.” He nuzzles you hair gently, strong arms coiled around you.
“I love you.”
And your heart is soaring.
“I love you too Henry.”
They always said that birthdays were great days. You couldn’t agree more with that statement.

Quick little note before I do my Henry Ramble Time Thing here ^-^ I am working on a Yewon sequel to Bittersweet Chocolate, and I’ve started a Donghae/Eunhyuk series =3 I’m working on them but I wanted to know if you readers (however many I have *cough*little*cough*) have a preference on which one you would like put up first =]
I realize this is late. I do. But I’ve been piled on with work from school and I just took the pre ACT. I hate that thing -_- I mean it. But you know me (or not) but for me, a present is better late than never. And this is a present for my awesome inspiration dude, Henry Lau.
Now… HENRY RAMBLE PIMP TIME! xDDDD
Henry Lau. If I had to describe him in one word, it would be amazing. But then again, for me, no words can correctly and truly describe him.
I admit to the fact that, although Yesung is my favorite in the Suju family, Henry is my number one inspiration with ZhouMi tailing in second and then Yesung.
To last through the ‘Only 13’ thing this entire time, I don’t know how he did it with a smile on his face the entire time. If it was me, I would’ve slapped a bitch. Really I would have. But he stood up to it. I can only wonder how many times he has been reduced to tears.
I hate that there are still people going on with that ‘Only 13’ crap. Well I’ve got a word for ya’ll. I normally respect people’s opinions but this is for Henry’s birthday so I’m a let loose.
I DON’T GIVE A DAMN IF YOU DON’T LIKE HIM. At least you could be respectful. Henry came to Korea simply because he wanted to do what he loved. Plus, chances are, he didn’t get a say on being in Super Junior M. I personally would love to see both him and ZhouMi go solo. They have the talent to.
I mean this boy can fucking SING, DANCE, PLAY THE VIOLIN… WHILE DANCING, SPEAK MULTIPLE LANGUAGES AND RAP. AND HE HELPED COMPOSE ALL MY HEART. CAN YOU DO ALL OF THAT? Didn’t think so. Cause I can’t either ;____;
All I can say is, Henry is my inspiration. Of course I look up to other singers, but he is my all time number on inspiration. I love who he is. His shy nature, ability to be adorable without knowing it, the side of him he shows on tv, his smile, his talents, everything I know about him. He is underrated, and was hated, but he still tried. He’s strong and amazing. I’m glad that I gave Super Junior a chance because I got to know this one person who makes me take second looks at everything because at first glance, you over look things. I over looked him the first time. Just that he was a dude he was super awesome at the violin. Then I started to see the things I missed before. The hate towards him.
Henry, I hope you will continue to be strong and continue to sing, dance, rap, compose, play the violin, whatever.
