Just finished La Chevalie d'Eon. Not bad; I rather liked it. It gave an interesting take on European history, plus had some fair swashbuckling and a couple of characters who may be viable for Larp someday, albiet with some effort and creativity. (Mainly useful as a political character. Also useful as an excuse to spout scripture and use it to kill ( Read more... )

Good to know. He's not actually my favorite character or even the one I think would make the most interesting game (unless there were royalty around; Lia apparently knows everyone of royal blood in all of Europe), but he's probably one of the most versitile and tricky to make. Brandon wants me to consider Telegory for an upcoming event, and to be honest virtually all of the characters in the main cast are pretty cool, but I think some of the villains or side characters (like the psychotic necromancer queen) would be more fun. For a political game, I think Robespierre or the Compt du Sant Germane would be wonderful, what with their extensive coven of crazy psalm-wizards all over the place and such, but I have a set of foils for them from another show in mind and the truth is that that would be a game that would take far too long for a weekend event.

Anyway, it's good to know you've seen it; we'll have to chat about it sometime.

Well, for most of the show they use it to either animate crazy mercury zombie things or possess the bodies of people, but toward the end they get into some more direct old testiment scripture sorcery. 'Cuz, ya know, David was all about that stuff. (Solomon maybe, but even he's a push.)

Seriously, though, it's a good show. I'd be happy to lend it to you, but that of course will involve actually seeing you at some point in the forseeable future. Give me a call or drop me a note or something and we can work it out.
