Somehow, "My endometriosis is acting up again" sounds more legitimate than "I'M ON THE RAG."

Endo is an extremely hard thing to diagnose. Basically they only know for sure by opening you up. I had adenomyosis which was only discovers by an internal ultrasound. Regardless either way, some months can be normal and some can make you want to die.

Yeah, I'm with former commenter. Everyone's menstrual period is different. Some women can just "suck it up" because they have light flow and minor if any discomfort. Others actually have to be medicated to control severe, nonstop cramping and/or really fucking unbelievably heavy flow (two of my college friends had to miss school two days a month in high school because their periods caused such ridiculous levels of cramping and other yuck--by the time they hit college, they were on medication to control it). Most of us are somewhere in the middle. I've called in sick because I had my period before, when it was accompanied by severe cramps, a headache, and fatigue. It's legit.

I definitely have missed (a lot) work because of how my periods used to be before my hysterectomy. There were actual days I would lay in the bathroom crying because I literally couldn't move. Everyone is different, but don't be so quick. Dudes don't understand at all what we deal with on a monthly basis, especially if she might have some medical issues she may or not be aware of.
