It's a wonderful week for a mission call.

Mine came 10 days after my stake president interview! 10 days! That's unheard of.

Anyways, I'm going to the Albania Tirana mission, Albanian speaking (duh). Entering the MTC January 26th. You can find out more about Albania here:

Wow wow! So did they all have to be albanian orthodox until nov. 1990 and then the majority became muslim?

I heard that Albanian is very similar to Russian...Timo?

no, until 1990 they were the world's only official atheist country

albanian has its own branch of the indo-european family, which means that it's only loosely related to the other indo european languages. however, it does have a lot of influence and cognates from Greek, Turkish, Italian, Slavic Languages, and the other balkan languages (hungarian, serbo-croat, etc.)
