I think it comes with the realization of how much about our pasts we've forgotten about. The more you forget, the more of a surprise it is to you when you're reminded.
I especially feel that way now that I'm back in town after 10 years out in the world. Every person I run into that I haven't seen in a million years reminds me how much of my past I don't even think about anymore. Names and faces and adventures lost to the mists of time.

I was digging through some crap the other day and I found my complete collection of wristbands (from Alpha Red to Sigma Silver) and my "Head Yak" business cards. And Joe (Manic) found his old flightsuit the other day too. Of course he's 10ft tall now, so it doesn't fit him.
