Heaven done called another blues-stringer back home.

We're grieving this morning, after learning last night that Chico Banks, one of Chicago's best blues guitarists (& a friend) passed away a few days ago.  He died of a lightning fast virus. He was only 47.

I can think of no more fitting tribute than the song first written for Stevie Ray Vaughn -- "Six Strings Down".

Can I just say that if this country had a less barbaric attitude toward F*cking health care insurance, he, and hundreds of other musicians, artists, authors, and others might still be alive, making this world a better place with their art.

Chico died 6 days ago. We haven't been going to B.L.U.E.S. as often as we sometimes do, what with work to be done and not enough energy to go around ( ... )

Yes. And you've captured people's response and feelings about him perfectly: "OUR Chico?"

Still can't believe he's gone.
