So much for the light snow we were supposed to be getting up here in Indiana. Flakes started falling at around 11PM last night (which amazing occurrence mikeashke got to witness vicariously over the phone), and by the time the sun came up this morning, my entire world was blanketed in about three inches of soft white powder. I know a Florida girl like you may not believe this, but I adore snow. It whispers when it falls, and it renders the world quiet and peaceful. The soft white blanket softens all the harsh corners and makes the lacy black of the naked tree limbs even prettier. I miss snow SO much it hurts. It's prettier in the country (or the New England burbs-where I'm from), but it even makes the city look nice. If you get a chance-go SLEDDING! or Make a snow angel! But sledding really is the best.

Actually, I can completely believe it. Snow is truly the most gorgeous natural wonder I can think of (at least until it gets all dirty and gritty :). I am very much looking forward to getting enough snow to go for a sled ride (there's a hill in my apartment complex I've been eyeballing for months now). Wish I could bottle some newly-fallen snow and send it to you, but I hope the pictures will suffice for now. :)

That's freakin awesome! Don't worry too much about major roads - they salt the heck out of everything at the slightest hint of ice (at least they do around here).

We didn't get any snow, just slushy rain. Poop.

You're right about the road salting -- they are really on top of that around here so I haven't had to worry too much about the driving thing (thank goddess!). We got icy rain all weekend, it was such a drag. But supposedly there is snow in the forecast again this week, I can't wait to make some snow angels! :)
