I don't really know how to start this thing off, and I'm kinda hoping that I won't have to go into a whole long schpiel here, but the gist of the situation is this

Yipeeeeee! glad to have you back on board! whoohooo! i am afraid i am the wallflower of blogging, so it's so wonderful to increase my friends on here by 33.3%, bc it's all about me ;). ok i dont do math, but now i have Ty, Michael, and Tina as the regulars. i love reading about people's lives, and i find i get a lot out of journaling myself. if i private journal, it's not the same thing bc i need a structural format, or sumpin, i donno, somebody got a thesis out there about public blogging vs private. Anyway, glad to see you back here again. I did miss you and your stories very much... xoxo
You know, it never occurred to me that one can use this for people who don't LJ. What a great idea Tina, as a public document for people who just want to check in and see what is going on in life. I will remember that since i am supposed to be moving, and of course, i can keep some things between friends only. Bc i have such a wild life, i wouldn't want people to know about that now would i ;)
Yeah, in much the same way that I read the non-LJ blogs of some friends of mine on a regular basis... I just love being able to keep up with people's lives when I don't always have the time for long phone chats!
I'm also glad to see you back on here, I've missed reading about your life.
In psych they teach us that the best way to know what's going on with someone is to do assessments and to do different kind of assessments (yes, including asking the person)....so talking on the phone and then reading the livejournal help me to get a fuller picture of your life. I would say triangulate but I need a third....hmm, yet another reason for a MySpace page. *grin*
wow, good idea Mike! i think we should all take up mind-reading or multidimensional aspects of communication. Actually, i joke but that's not off too much. Sending good loving peaceful thoughts are very valuable. myspace is a good way too, bc the pictures people choose paint a wonderful picture of who we are as people.
I don't know that I would want anyone to read my thoughts lately... they've been kinda drab and not-too-cheery. Could I have mind-reader ID and voice mail so I can decide when I want to let my mind be read?
I use a lot of filters because I have things that everyone doesn't need to or want to know about and I find that to be a satisfying solution. If I don't want ANYONE to see something, but I want it recorded, I use the "private" option. I stopped making public posts around the time I started teaching - just in case!
Anyway, I for one hope that you will continue to post here!
Filters are a good idea, except for the non-LJ people who read my blog... I do have a couple filters, but I've never really used them too much. Excellent point about needing to screen everything you post now that you're out there teaching, though! It's hard to be public with your thoughts when your students might use them against you! :)
Thank you for the warm welcome and support... yours is definitely one of the blogs I most enjoy reading on a regular basis. You are such a good and faithful writer, I always feel like I am kept well up-to-date on your happenings!
Welcome back!altamahaJanuary 29 2008, 02:29:52 UTC
I go through phases where the most I can muster to post are quizzes and silly stuff, but LJ is a good outlet even if miscommunications can sometimes occur.

I suppose so. I mean, normally I'd agree with you, but at the moment the memory of those miscommunications is still a little too raw. But thanks for the welcome return!
