Jury Duty '11

I was selected as a juror on a discrimination case in U.S. District Court.

However, the case was terminated before the trial even began.  Don't know why--it was either settled, postponed, or maybe because one of my fellow jurors never showed up (he did say he was coming from Queens and taking public transportation, but he never called the court

I have to say I find the jury system fascinating. Just saying, coming from a counrty that doesn't have them they have always seemed strange (and potentially problematic) to me. Still, the system does make for nice settings for countroom dramas. A Finnish courtroom drama would be a lot less, well, dramatic.
