anyone who knew me when i still had my local mahopac bank account has probably heard my rant on why banks are ridiculous and frustrating as hell. i thought maybe - MAYBE - switching to a big, shiny bank with nifty advertising involving bubble wrap would slightly quell my qualms

I empathize, I too have been having bank trouble lately. Stupid banks.

If I remember correctly, as long as you have your ATM card at the ATM machine, you just have to sign to have your checks and in the proper envelope to be processed. It's recorded on the computers, so they'll have to match the checks, but no account numbers-- the card is considered your number.

But I use Bank of America. You might have to go bank shopping (again). I still have my Mahopac National Bank account, but I'm not even there to use it.
