Oh look, now I'm seething

Gmail decided, apropos of nothing I can learn, that my account once again has "unusual activity". I don't know why it's kicking me about after years of no trouble at all, but it's going to be a day before I can access anything, apparently-all Gmail's inta-help options are for people with cell phones, which I don't have, since there's no reception ( Read more... )

Whaa? So it's not even like just a touch-tone phone that's needed to hit menu options when you call, but a cell phone? Why?

Because they would be sending me a text message for my cell phone! Because absolutely everyone who has internet access has a cell phone, right?

Ugh. I HATE this kind of unconscious cargo-snobbery. Even if I HAD a cell phone, there's no reception where I live, which is of course why I don't have a cell!

Thank you for the ping and the ventportunity, though. I am feeling quite cut off, here.<0_0>

Okay, that *is* dumb! Not all cell phones can even get text messages. I can get them, but not often because it's not part of my plan and they're expensive, and Josh's old phone didn't have a plan that accepted them at all. So even if someone had a cell phone, this wouldn't definitely help them. This is a major customer service fail.

Hey, feel free to vent! Don't want you feeling lonely and annoyed. Now you can vent and be annoyed. ;)

On the other hand, hey, I DO have running water. So I've rejoined the 20th century even if the 21st hates me now. * sobs piteously *

Also, obligatory acknowledgement that this is not a Real Problem like being hit with machetes or having my house on fire, but for someone with my physical limits, no email is still a really, really big deal.

It is SO frustrating, not least because I'd planned to spend the day catching up on blog duties and networking and such. And hey, guess where I keep my contact info! Plus, guess what account runs Blogger! Yaaaay.

Ugh. Lesson learned. I get access back, I'm finding some app that'll back up all my Gmail stuff. So so frustrating, though- I never had this problem before this month, and now it's twice in one week!
