I sometimes think I am in the wrong line of work.Human behavior and interaction has always fascinated me, even as a kid. I would love to analyze my family dynamics, clear misunderstandings, and though being the youngest in the family - was the advice giver more than the taker. I have met many who are seemingly perfect from outside but once I got to know them better- I realize they 'lacked something'. I always interpreted that that 'something' was what makes a person from acquaintance to friend, loved to liked or vice-versa. So, I guess I have always assigned the reason as something along the line of 'that person does not lack something, but we are not meant to click'. I'm sure many would think of me the same way- as I am very selective about making friends, or even mixing socially. I still believe that. I guess that is what I believe is the reason that I am not friends with just anyone... and why we do not treat everyone we know in the exact same way... ?

I wouldn't put too much importance to popularity, unless I believe that there is only one set standard that every human being should be aspired to follow :)... but of course- that's just me :)

Yeah- its that "clicking" is what is described as EQ. Which reminds me , a research was done on a mother of two twins, one of them she thought was a lot like her,the other a lot like the dad. When the mother interacted with the more similar twin there was an easy flow of interactions- with the other baby-it was mostly a game of playing catch- the baby would look at the mother- the mother would look away and vice versa. They found that when the babies grew up to be little people- they interacted in a similar manner- they traced the EQ of every being to the emotional 'tightness' they shared with the mother. Odd eh? How much we learn from them ? .But research has also showed situations or conscious effort to change what we learnt from our mothers can bring about a change in personality :)

Its true for me too- I have probably one friend who I hit it off famously with- the rest its always - sort of guarded.
